“As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them.”
– John F. Kennedy
This coming Monday is Veterans Day. It’s a day set aside to express our gratitude as a nation for the sacrifices of our servicemen and women. We remember those veterans who have come before us, and commemorate the veterans who have lost their lives. But we also have the opportunity to celebrate and show our gratitude to the veterans who are a part of our lives today. As a nation, we set aside this day to acknowledge that all who have served have made sacrifices to preserve our nation’s security.
There are more than 22 million veterans who have reintegrated back into our society after being a part of the United States Armed Forces. More than that, there are well over one million men and women on active duty in the United States military, and almost one million reserve personnel. These are our friends, neighbors, work associates, parents, siblings, spouses and children. They are among the people you encounter every day. But many of our veterans face difficult obstacles when returning to civilian life, like high unemployment rates or even homelessness. These men and women need our support. Because of their service to our country, they have helped to shape American history. Now we, as their community, can help shape their future as part of our society.
On November 11th, let’s show our gratitude to these remarkable men and women, not only in what we say but also in what we do to show them our support. This is why IT Liquidators is a proud employer of veterans. Join us this coming Monday in honoring our veterans; find a way to show your appreciation to the veterans in your life. This one’s for you Dan!
